The Sky of Fuerteventura
- The municipality of La Oliva has innumerable places from which to contemplate the cosmos in its fullness. Its sparse population, its remote location between natural parks and the remoteness of other crowded places, make our accommodation the ideal place to enjoy the best starry skies of the Canary Islands.
The night sky of Fuerteventura has become the third Starlight Reserve in the Canary Islands after the foundation that watches over the best places to contemplate the stars without light pollution has recognized its "exceptional" conditions.
- The absence of light pollution, the sharpness, availability of important periods of non-cloudy weather, the "unique" combinations of landscapes and the starry sky or the cultural heritage related to astronomy have served as arguments to support this distinction.
- The Starlight Reserve will allow the island to have a tourist stamp to offer visitors, especially astronomy enthusiasts, who will find enclaves on the coast of Barlovento, such as Cofete, Los Molinos, Paso Chico (in Tindaya ) or Tefía , from which to contemplate the Milky Way in its fullness.
